What's New In PhotoWebber 2

Here's the quick list of new features in PhotoWebber 2. If you are not familiar with PhotoWebber, you should consider first reading about it in the product overview.

Pop Up Menus

PhotoWebber 2 introduces support for pop up menus. PhotoWebber 2 popup menus can be graphic layers, can be located anywhere on the screen, can cross frame boundaries, and work in both style sheets and tables. And best of all, you can set them up in Photoshop!

Layer FX Support

PhotoWebber 2 now supports Photoshop 5 and 6 layer effects.

Interactivity Preview

PhotoWebber 2 now lets users preview interactivity inside the application. If you want to see how a rollover or menu might look, simply choose the interactivity cursor and try it out!

Table Granularity - Table Preview

PhotoWebber 2 produces far better tables than PhotoWebber 1. And, while tables are still automatically calculated, users can now specify "table granularity" which is the smallest allowable cell size.

And, PhotoWebber lets users preview the table from within the application, so you can see how it is planning to divide your document.

QuickTime, Flash, Shockwave, Java Applets and More
HTML Extensions

PhotoWebber 2 is now extensible. It ships with extensions for QuickTime, Flash, Shockwave and Java Applets. Now incorporating sophisticate media into your PhotoWebber web pages is as easy as PhotoWebber itself. HTML Extensions can be defined in XML, so intrepid users can write their own.

Layer Export & Refresh

PhotoWebber now has a way to quickly and easily export one or more layers as GIF/JPEG without building the entire page. PhotoWebber 2 sports layer export. You can control the compositing of layers, and even choose a custom background color for pre-compositing.

PhotoWebber has also extended its round-trip capabilities with Photoshop. Individual layers can be "refreshed" from the original Photoshop file without requiring a separate import or saving/opening a .pws file.

Click State

PhotoWebber 2 adds click states to its interactivity support. Layer names that are appended with _c will automatically be interepreted as click states. Click states make PhotoWebber's new interactivity preview twice as useful.

XHTML Compliance

Along with a lot of rework on the javascript that is created, PhotoWebber 2 now output HTML that is also well formed XML.

Photoshop 6 Text Support

Photoshop 6 text layers are understood in their native format, and can be converted to raw HTML text.
